Themes and Lessons from April

A solar eclipse, a Jupiter Uranus conjunction, Mars Neptune, Mercury Rx…

There were plenty of themes from this month that will last a bit longer. Hopefully, you’ve been able to close some doors that were left swinging open. Patterns are certainly coming to the surface. This can have us knee deep in them or observing them from above. Either way, awareness breeds actions towards improvement.

Based on my own journey, my work with clients, friends, and family, here are my insights from the month.

  1. There is simply too much of something(s)... First and foremost, I would look at the house in your chart where you find Taurus. To be specific, 18-24 degrees of tropical Taurus. Notice any aspects being made to this point. Conjunctions and squares are likely to be the most disruptive but also workable. Trines and sextiles may feel a bit out of control and be asking us to just ‘let go and let God’.

This can look like overwhelm or even obsession. At times the energy you have for these ventures is unparalleled while a few hours or days later you can barely give it anything at all. With every high comes a low and vice versa. If something can make you feel whole, it can also make you feel empty. Whatever has gotten out of hand is indicative of a pattern we’ve been carrying our whole lives. Take the ups and downs and work with them. As these lessons unfold, keep moderation as your running mate.

Key to handling this… Reduce consumption. Whether it is a person, a job, your phone, a food or a substance, take your foot off the gas. There can be an all-or-nothing feeling to this time, especially when considering the issues that overwhelm us. Remember that everything is here for a reason. Don’t shoot the messenger or throw the baby out with the bath water. In the most effective way you can, take your foot off the gas. Do your best to be present with the attachment, the situation, the overwhelm, without judging or shunning it or your connection to it. This will allow you to learn what you need to learn without having to repeat a bunch of steps later. Remember the ups and downs, don’t allow them to have you destroying something/someone that is here to help.

Final Note… Communicate or not? Not every situation can handle you talking about your inner process. Certain people CAN. Who can you talk to, and how much can you share? Could you let a partner know that you are experiencing overwhelm? Can you tell your parents that you are sick and tired of the way they talk to you? It’s not always the thing to do, but it’s always better to have people on the same page if possible. The practice of being vulnerable and also knowing your limits will relieve pressure and enhance all of your connections.
  2. Focus on Yourself. The month of April has disoriented the entire planet. In my work and life, a lot of people come to me and share. Trust me that no one is doing fantastic with all of this changing energy. We are in a time of flux. The very core of our collective psyche is being tested and deconstructed. When this happens, we often attempt to control the outer world to find security.

Keys to handling this… Find yourself. There are collective movements widespread. Individuals who seek to find a sense of identity and purpose through collective action and shared goals. There is nothing wrong with this. However, there is a propensity to lose one’s personal identity in these movements. The collective shadow becomes projected into the movement until the initial intent is lost and momentum out of control. So we must find ourselves. It is reasonable to be angry about a number of things. Our bodies feel emotions for a reason, to serve us, protect us, warn us, teach us. They aren’t for anyone else, they are precious and personal. So, feel your feelings! Honor your body and it’s amazing gifts.

Each and every day, have a practice to get in touch with your center. Meditation, journaling, yoga, going for a walk, singing, etc. Before entering a fray of anger against the ills of the world, cleanse and center yourself. Instead of allowing our frustrations to be projected out, we must process them internally, then we can be of service. Otherwise, we are adding to the chaos.

Final note… Let others evolve. If you consider yourself a healer, light worker, or helper, take this time to reconsider your motives. What is your identity if you aren’t helping others? Exploring this will serve to help you align with a higher purpose. Layers of ego hide underneath good intentions. This doesn’t make you manipulative, but there is a better way to view things.

No one needs us besides us. When others are struggling, allow them to be in their process. If they ask you for help… help them. Otherwise, back away from the controls. Give to yourself and store you energy in your heart, kidneys, root chakra. Build yourself up, there is plenty more to come.
There are an infinite number of ways to live and grow as a soul. Have faith in God’s unfolding. Sometimes an entire nation has to struggle in order to get to a collective lesson. Let it go.
  3. We are being inundated. The physical insecurity continues to expand across the globe. Fewer and fewer have what they once did, this is part of the growth of our human family. As this happens, more and more individuals are operating from fear and lack mindset. Tactics arise from these shadowy depths and will stop at nothing to fulfill their basic needs. Whether it is Nigerian Princes or calls about your cars extended warranty, instascams or identity theft, people are just trying to get some money to provide for their basic needs. As this energy becomes more and more common, attacks on your personal sovereignty and psycho emotional stability are everywhere. If you are watching or reading the news, you may want to a consider a cleansing practice after each exposure. This can be sage, a bath, a walk, a shower, or a prayer/invocation. If you are wrapped up in politics or global movements, protests, strikes, or anything where you are fighting… consider the same.

Key to handling this. Protect yourself. Don’t take advice from anyone unless you’ve asked for it. Of course consider that which crosses your path, but know when you are being compromised. Not everything that is bad for you is malicious. We are on a path of self discovery. A big part of that is being able to maintain and protect our core energy. If we allow everything in too far, it is impossible to produce and create what we seek in the world.

Final Note. Care less about how you are seen. Those operating from fear often people please to limit threats to their security. This is a coping mechanism, however it is toxic. In large groups, we see people being shamed for being themselves in order to protect a collective delusion. Victim mentality underlies this way of being. Inevitably, when we people please, we will resent them or ourselves for dimming our light. Best to just avoid that route all together. Whether it is social media, at work, or in a friend group, there are pressures to be on one side or the other. Sometimes simply having an opinion can have you ostracized. I say GOOD.
You know, right in your heart, that your truth is your truth. Stand by it. Read less commentary. Don’t engage haters or trolls. And finally, allow others to have their own opinions, find the less judgmental route without losing your boundaries. Don’t be afraid to be disliked for being yourself. This is a gift. You decide what you are, no one else gets to do that.

Are you sacrificing your peace for company?

I was told by a very wise woman… “You will find your true happiness when you are willing to be alone instead of around company that brings you down.”

Be on the lookout for polarization. Known as splitting, people tend to polarize issues into good/bad or black/white when they are under stress. Don’t get caught up in this. There is shadow in light and light in shadow. Consider the Yin and Yang. If we can’t be happy alone, we won’t be happy together.

Are you asking too much of yourself?

Have the pressures of life put you into a state of constantly pushing? Are you a little bit frazzled and easily distracted?

With so much competition and separation, I think we’ve forgotten about all of the strength and courage we show in simply existing. Getting up everyday is a choice, no one is forcing you. Throughout your entire life, there has always been one person who has been there for you… this person is YOU. Our internal processes continue to move faster and faster. This is the growth that stays with your Soul. Build what you want on Earth, it will fade. However, the impactful events of your day to day life imprint into you. Your core resonance carries a frequency that is mutable with diligent and focused intentional work.

You are doing a great job, despite what the outside may look like. Despite what the inner or outer critics say. Make sure to give yourself a break. Remember you are here to live, not to suffer.
