Venus . Sun . Mars Stellium Developing in Capricorn
As of the 1st of January, Mercury has also entered the demure Capricorn chat. By the new moon on the 18th, each of these planets will have had their cazimi with the Sun and opposition to Jupiter and square to recently direct ((January 2nd)) Chiron ((read more on the Chiron-Jupiter aspect HERE)). Needless to say, a lot of expression is coming through the Capricorn energy.
If you have placements in the sign of Capricorn this is an especially ripe time of personal development. The generation born between 1989 and 1993 should be transforming in powerful ways both individually and collectively. It may feel as if this time has been what you were waiting for. Sometimes that can feel like dread… often we put things off for a long time because it just isn’t the intuitive time to get it done. Remember that whatever is coming your way, no matter how scary it might feel, you will be just fine.
At the full moon this stellium is not super intense. These aspects peak January 6th – 13th but will be in effect for most of the month. After exiting Capricorn, each planet will conjunct Pluto in Aquarius… which is no laughing matter… or maybe that is exactly what it is. Watch out for people being WAY too serious about stuff.
Full Moon with Positive lasting Power

Full Moon in Cancer @ 13° is one half day short of Jupiter in Cancer. This will have us feeling the energy through the afternoon on Saturday. At its peak early morning, the moon opposes Venus and Mars. These two lovers have a way of balancing one another and show restraint in the cardinal Earth sign. Often, an opposition from Jupiter can have everything being a bit overexposed and overdone. While this is still a risk at this lunation, it can be easily avoided as long as we take our time and think first.
In my estimation, it is unlikely that emotion will take us over and cause reactivity. The normal BS that comes out of toxic projection will be pretty nasty, but that is nothing new. More than anything, I believe people have a hard time changing direction once they invest in something. Me too, I ain’t no different.
Maybe it’s my Venus in Capricorn trining Moon in Virgo but I just don’t invest in many things. My valuation is shrewd and I’ll only get involved if I feel like it is worth it. When evidence proves to the contrary, it is very uncomfortable. I will retreat and disappear until I can accept the ego hit that I was wrong. The older I get, the easier this is to do. My goal is for this process to be immediate but I am not there yet.
There are many upsides to this time and I’d say just enjoy your time. Be careful of overestimating your abilities or finances. There are opportunities to be found here, use them to fortify your life. Love what you are doing and enjoy the little comforts. Do what you are good at. Recognize your gifts.
Stubbornness is the downfall I see around this full moon. When evidence shows up and indicates that you are wrong or mistaken, how do you handle it? Even more than this, when you need help, do you know how to ask for it and receive it? Capricorn is self sufficient and those strengths will be on display. However, not all tasks are efficiently or possibly completed alone. Each person will be striving for independent glory and this may highlight insecurities. Instead of seeing these as weaknesses, allow those insecurities to show you where you would like to grow. Allow Earth sign energy to inform you about the world. Take in the info and choose a grounded path towards your desired outcome. Reactivity in the face of truth will keep you stuck, sick and angry. Some things are hard to face. That’s only because we don’t want to feel that reality. I get it, but don’t torture yourself. Capricorn tells us that, once we know what is in front of us, we can conquer anything.
Why am I talking so much about Capricorn?
Isn’t this full moon in Cancer?
Well yes, James, it is. The thing is, I speak about the planets. The signs or zodiac where they reside is part of the story, but the planets are the true players. At this lunation, the four major personal players are in Capricorn.

What about the Cancer expression? Well this is a very sensitive time. Feelings are big and nostalgic. Jupiter is in the midst of an extended square to both Eris and Chiron. Pain from a long time ago is on the table. When we feel intensely, the moon is implicated, it shades the quality. In Cancer, we feel intimately connected to our feelings and we may even identify with them. Thoughts and beliefs motivated by emotion can confuse us and have us pledging allegiance to the family and familiar instead of to our hearts true desires. Our souls calling can get lost in the mix. Too concerned with how it feels, we forget to be objective and observe our lives.
While again this is possible with the full moon in Cancer, there are some factors that help us make better sense of it all. Jupiter can have things getting out of hand, but we are in a temporary relief period to the Eris/Chiron squares. Deep in the chasms of this aspect, a lot of people just don’t have extra energy to fight or get worked up.
If you are bordering on exhaustion… you are not alone. Please take rest where you can. The unfolding at the unconscious, superconscious and collective levels require constant attunement. This is a taxing task, take more breaks.
At the same time, the planets that help guide us through feeling, understanding and action are working with the Sun and each other in the grounded and practical sign of Capricorn. How we currently see the world, the lens, is Venus. How we take action and are motivated is Mars. Both planets in Capricorn, especially when working together, are well thought out, shrewd and practical. So while the emotional heights of full moon and Jupiter in Cancer are there, the planets that help us express and understand are also there, bringing balance and a sense of cool, calm and collected control.
In fact, we may even feel bored or tired of the same emotional patterns. The Capricorn view says ‘what the shit am I still doing thinking about all this?’. Remember to feel what comes up to completion. You will know how to take what is good and leave the rest behind. Obligations that don’t excite you, especially ones connected to family… they just aren’t viable options. As a native Venus in Capricorn and Cancer rising let me just say ‘YUCK’ to looking for approval through sacrifice or obligation.
Shrewd is a key word here. Use this time to figure out what you just don’t need anymore. Its not that hard to figure out, we just have to be honest with ourselves. From there, we have to summon the courage or the IDGAF to change the patterns.
What other people think of you don’t mean shit.

Takeaways and Moving Forward
The moon will still be in Cancer until Sunday morning ((9 AM Eastern)). As it moves into Leo and opposes Pluto ((around 2:20 PM Eastern)) we shed the skin that this full moon helped us loosen. Get out and get active. This energy can have us feeling a little bristly. We may have had to do a lot of compromise around this full moon and this is a time to do whatever the hell we want.
Be excited for the week to come, there is plenty of energy to be found. This full moon may seem very subtle but trust me when I say it is shifting foundational energies. If the path is clear to communicate honestly, take the chance. Even if it feels emotional, get it out there. You may find that people are far more receptive, whether they like it or not.
Enjoy this lovely energy and don’t forget to recognize all of your good works in life. We each play such a key role in the lives of others. Our world can be so hell bent on recognizing a few small facets of life like money and worldly success. I mean, those are great but we are so much more than all that. The frequency of your heart is more valuable than all the riches of the Earth. You make someone smile and they do the same for you, that is very special.
